Aged 6 years in oak

La Rioja Alta, S.A. was founded in 1890 by 5 Riojan and Basque families as 'Sociedad Vinícola de La Rioja Alta.' Today, it is one of the oldest and most notable producers in Spain. '890' is in reference to the year it was founded. The '1' was dropped so as to not be confused for the vintage year.

A wine of true elegance, this one is worth the splurge for a special occasion, when  you're looking to impress, or for anyone wanting to experience one of the  best wines Spain has to offer. This vintage is also in very limited supply. After the financial crisis of 2008, the winemakers thought no one would ever buy expensive wine again so they made very little. 13 years later, the wine is ready to be released and they were wrong!
