Hemingway Daiquiri

Ernest Hemingway started drinking daiquiri's during his time in Cuba but modified it with less sugar and more rum. Eventually grapefruit was also added. We tweaked the recipe slightly by using pampelmousse liqueur instead of grapefruit juice to add another layer of complexity. Hemingway also had a deep love of Spain, spending much time traveling there throughout his life. His Spain connection started by covering the Spanish Civil War in 1936. He grew close to fellow reporter Martha Gellhorn there, whom he later married, and his time covering the war inspired his famed work "For Whom the Bell Tolls."
